6:00 AM – Early Morning Start
My eldest son had early morning practice today and left the house at 6 a.m. I prepared his lunchbox to match his schedule. Thankfully, I had prepped everything the night before, so all I had to do was pack it this morning—super easy! His bento included tamagoyaki (a Japanese rolled omelet), sausages, macaroni salad, bite-sized pork cutlets, and two rice balls. Since he had a lot to carry, I drove him to school.
7:00 AM – Morning Routine with Family
After returning home, it was time to wake up my husband and younger son. I quickly prepared breakfast for them. I wish they could handle it themselves, but as a mom, I know it’s my role to help out.
8:30 AM – Finally, Me Time
Once everyone left the house, I finally had some time to myself. I decided to spend it studying Python programming. This time is like a reward for me—I enjoy learning new things. Today, I focused on conditional statements and functions.
3:00 PM – Snack Break
In the middle of my studies, I took a short break for a snack. Today’s treat was homemade yogurt topped with blueberries and drizzled with honey, paired with cookies and a hot cup of coffee. It was a small indulgence but enough to recharge me for the rest of the day.
5:00 PM – Younger Son Returns
My younger son came home earlier than usual at 5 PM. After relaxing a bit, he surprised me by heading to cram school. With his exams approaching, he seems determined to study harder. I’m cheering him on to get into a good high school!

8:00 PM – Dinner: Family Favorite Gyoza
For dinner, I made gyoza (Japanese dumplings). Gyoza is an extremely popular dish in Japan, enjoyed by families everywhere. It’s a family favorite in our house too, so I ended up making 60 pieces. Preparing them took some time, but they were gone in an instant! As always, we cooked our rice in a Staub enamel pot instead of using a rice cooker. It’s faster and tastier this way. Recently, we’ve been mixing Hokkaido’s Nanatsuboshi rice with barley for extra texture—it’s delicious, and I highly recommend trying it!
11:30 PM – Bedtime
After cleaning up and preparing for the next day, I finally went to bed at 11:30 PM. Tomorrow, my younger son has early morning practice, so it’ll be another early start. I wonder when I’ll ever get to sleep in. Good night!
